About Speedland

Speedland is a company that refuses to cut corners. Instead, they bend, twist, and mold those corners into some of the best trail shoes. Founded by footwear industry veterans Dave Dombrow and Kevin Fallon, Speedland is born from two decades of experience at leading footwear brands like Nike, Puma, and Under Armour.

Their philosophy centers on uncompromising quality, a dedication to craftsmanship, and direct input from elite trail athletes. The result is trail footwear built from the highest quality materials available, including Michelin wrap outsoles, dual BOA Li2 Fit Systems, and reinforced knit uppers. Sustainability is integral to Speedland’s mission, emphasizing products designed for longevity and recyclability at the end of their life cycle.

Other Speedland Running Shoes of Note

Speedland collaborates uniquely with elite athletes to develop and launch shoes designed for specific terrains and running experiences. These collaborations often result in limited releases, making each shoe model highly sought after. By limiting the availability of each design, Speedland ensures meticulous attention to detail, exclusivity, and innovation for each model.

SL:HSV – Rugged Terrain Favorite

The Ultimate 2025 Guide to Speedland Shoes -
"Fantastic shoe for rugged trails. Holds up after hundreds of miles, and you can mail the shoe back to the manufacturer to be recycled once its lifetime is up. Best shoe ever!" -Olivia Beer on the Speedland HSV

The Speedland HSV excels as a comfortable shoe for long runs on technical trails. With a spacious toe box, customizable lug length, and a convenient yet potentially problematic dual BOA dial system, the HSV provides both responsiveness and protection. Its Michelin rubber outsole and removable Carbitex plate enhance versatility but note the grip decreases in colder weather. Ideal for technical terrain, though runners with narrow feet may struggle with fit initially. Praised for exceptional durability even after hundreds of miles.

GS:PGH – High-Performance Technical Trail Shoe

The Ultimate 2025 Guide to Speedland Shoes -
"The PGH is slightly lighter (0.4 oz) than the GS:TAM and weighs the same as the SL:HSV with its lugs trimmed. Other updates from the GS:TAM include a softer, bouncier foam midsole that seems to give back almost everything you put into it–particularly on steep climbs. The Boa Fit system has also been perfected and seems to work a lot smoother than it did in the SL:HSV..." -Abby on the GS:PGH model

Engineered specifically for technical trail running, the GS:PGH offers a softer, bouncier midsole compared to other Speedland models, along with seamless propulsion due to rocker geometry. Its durable upper and Michelin outsole ensure exceptional performance on runnable trails, particularly steep inclines. Featuring a dual BOA system for customizable fit, this model is particularly suitable for wide-footed runners. It may require a break-in period due to its initially firm foam, and it doesn't accommodate alternative insoles (a downside with all Speedland shoes).

Approx Weight (size 9): 10.5 oz
Approx Drop: 7mm
Total Stack (Ground to Foot): 30mm/37mm

TAM – Maximalist Trail Companion

The Ultimate 2025 Guide to Speedland Shoes -
"Speedland nailed the TAM and it has become one of my favorite shoes of all time. The foam they used is more dense/stiff than what you'd find in a Hoka or Nike, yet it feels like it absorbs impact equally good or better, maybe giving back a little more energy too. The denser foam feels more stable and agile than the squishier foams used by Hoka..." -Ja Shua Ried on the Speedland TAM

The TAM is a maximalist trail shoe featuring excellent underfoot protection, a wide toe box, and notable stability despite its high stack height. Its aggressive forefoot rocker provides a quicker toe-off, making it faster and more agile than expected for a maximalist shoe. With a customizable lug system, dual BOA dials, and removable carbon plate, it’s particularly well-suited for gravel roads and moderately technical terrain. However, the breathable upper tends to let in dirt on dusty trails, and the Michelin outsole performs less optimally on wet, mossy rocks.
