🏃‍♀️Jacquelyn is a self-described:

  • “Running happy-hype girl"
  • Lifelong lover of the sport
  • Mid-run dance breaker
  • Her running philosophy is all about enjoying the process, celebrating wins, and running with joy.

🏃‍♀️Jacquelyn’s current favorite pair of running shoes is the On Cloudswift for a couple of reasons...

  • She finds that the On Cloudswift is the perfect shoe for running on hard surfaces like sidewalk and road with its medium level of cushioning
  • The forward-rolling construction keeps Jacquelyn from sinking into heels, producing more forefoot strike.
  • The sleek and clean design is the cherry on top!

Jacquelyn's running journey

Her running journey dates back to when she was a child, racing her dad home after rec league soccer games–an entire city block felt so far back then!

  • Once Jaquelyn reached the 6th grade, she joined middle school track.
  • She recalls the freedom she experienced running around the neighborhood: “There were no pressures. Just the joy of running.”
  • She ran in high-school, competing at the state level
  • Then she ran track at the collegiate level
  • Eventually, she started running half and full marathons

🔥Burnout to refocus

But with recognition, came expectation, and burn out.

“I was outcome focused, and I had to relearn my relationship with running,” Jacquelyn said.

Approaching running with a new lens allowed Jacquelyn to shift her focus from outcomes to celebration of the process.

😃Rediscover the joy of running

Take a look at Jaquelyn’s Instagram profile and you’ll notice her focus on intuitive running: An approach that brings the childlike fun back to running.

  • Running intuitively is honoring your body’s needs
  • It means running out of self-love instead of obligation.

Whether intuitive running found Jacquelyn or the other way around, there’s no doubt that it has changed her life for the better.

“I needed it for myself," Jacquelyn said.

"I was running because I didn’t feel enough: good enough, smart enough, strong enough. It was my vessel in which I showed my worth. I had lost the joy in the journey…I had to unlearn the ‘shoulds’ of running."

🏃‍♀️Jacquelyn’s 8 Tips to Maximize the Joy of Running🏃‍♀️

  1. Respect your body and trust its instinctual knowledge of what it needs
  2. Be present and in the moment during your run
  3. Ask yourself, “will this action support me so I can run for the rest of my life?”
  4. Run because you love yourself, not because you hate yourself
  5. Don’t be a fool and forget that food is fuel
  6. Run based on effort instead of pace
  7. Celebrate small, daily actions instead of outcomes
  8. Take a #midrundancebreak! This is part of a larger strategy to capitalize on the reward centers of the brain. Jacquelyn explains, “even if it is the most miserable run…a mid-run dance break boosts my dopamine and reminds me what is the most important to my goal.”

😃Fun Facts About Jacquelyn:

  • Rooster Calling, is the result of a middle school conversation with friends: “We were joking in middle school. Her friends asked, “if you could be any animal, what would you be?” Jacquelyn thought about it for a second and replied, “a rooster! They wake up early and they’re loud.” Now, Jacquelyn has a lot of rooster knickknacks.

And she...

  • Doesn't watch or own a TV.
  • Says ‘hello’ to animals on her runs.
  • High-fives other runners she sees
  •  On shoes, including the Cloudswift, include technology that provides a smooth landing and a firm toe-off.
  • The company’s signature cloud technology, CloudTec, is the brainchild of Olivier Bernhard, a Swiss athlete, who was dissatisfied with typical running shoe design. For On’s early prototype, Bernhard glued loops of rubber tubing to the bottom of a running shoe to create a cushioning system that also propelled the runner forward.
  • The Cloudswift has a 6mm heel to toe drop and a forward roll running style.
