'Run your own race' with Elizabeth Clor

Elizabeth’s journey began as a post-college quest for health and fitness, where the treadmill became her trusty companion.
.
But it wasn't long before she traded the treadmill belt for the open road, diving headfirst into the world of road racing.
.
Since running her debut half marathon in 2005, Elizabeth has run:

  •  33 marathons...
  • Including 4 Boston Marathons!

At 45 years young, she’s not slowing down anytime soon.
.
Elizabeth is still setting new PRs!

  • In fact, she just set a new half marathon PR of 1:29:50 at the Newport News One City Half Marathon (read her latest blog post on her first sub 90 minute half here)

But Elizabeth's achievements extend beyond the pavement.
.
Between her own training and role as Chief Marketing Officer at a tech firm, she also dedicates time to coach other runners, guiding them towards their own milestones and successes!

Read her book: Boston Bound

In 2016,  she published Boston Bound, which digs into how she overcame a vicious cycle of perfectionism and anxiety that thwarted her early attempts at qualifying for the prestigious Boston Marathon.
.
In the book, Elizabeth lays out how she optimized her mental approach to running and life to discover her full potential.
.
Elizabeth’s top tips for mental strategies for athletic performance:

  • Think big picture and look at the long game of running. This will take the pressure off of any one individual race.
  • Don't compare yourself to other runners. Even though running can be quite competitive, you will do your best if you "run your own race" and embrace your unique journey.

👟Congratulations to our February winner, Jenn!

Known as @jenn.fain on Instagram, Jenn ran away with a pair of Salmon Aero Glide 2s! Enjoy those new kicks, Jenn!

Jenna Busch-Henderson I am dying to try these! I'm a Nike fan, and I've always worn the Zoom Pegasus. Looking to up my game as I train for the LA marathon in a little over a week, and the Santa Clarita marathon in the fall. (I'm also planning on squishing in a couple more marathons before that if I can.)

Mary Ann Ratajczak I would love to try these shows!! Currently I am training for The Scranton Half and hopefully I will be running Boston in 2025 .
