I was sent two packages of GloGlo Gummies to try out, and as I was about to run the Seaside Marathon, I thought it was the perfect opportunity to try it out. Yes, yes, I know. Nothing new on race day. I sometimes ignore that for reviews. I haven't always been great with fueling during long runs in the past, but since I knew I really needed to, I figured this was the perfect opportunity.
I was thrilled with how it turned out. I doubt I'm alone in the fact that I can't stand sticky things, especially when I'm running. Heck, I won't even take orange slices during marathons because of that. However, GloGlo Gummies aren't sticky at all! I didn't have to wipe my hands on my running shorts and attract bees (yes, this has happened). I cannot begin to express what a big deal that is for someone with ADHD and texture sensitivity.
Of course, taste is the biggest thing with gummies, and I absolutely loved them! I was sent blueberry and passionfruit, and they were absolutely delicious. The only issue I can see with this is that I would want to eat them all the time when I'm not running. (I have been known to keep race treats in my car for just this reason.) I also love the fact that these don't contain cane sugar, and that they're vegan, gluten-free (and tummy stuff can be a big deal for us when we run), and don't have caffeine. They do contain glucose, which is absorbed quickly, and did give me a burst of energy pretty quickly during the race. I had no tummy issues at all, and actually finished faster than I expected.
Seriously, though. Non-sticky gummies? I'm 100% committed to these now!
