Swim? Bike? Run? Why not all three?!?!
Tri CLE Rock Roll Run at Edgewater Park offers multiple events and various distances for all abilities for a great cause.
This event supports KIDS THAT TRI - a local charity providing equipment and teaching at risk youth the skills to complete.
I chose the super sprint Tri. The shorter distances helped boost my confidence while allowing me to challenge myself and get outside of my comfort zone.
Easy directions, ample free parking, and organized packet pick up.
Tons of strict but friendly volunteers to help guide you and keep you safe throughout the entire day!
The swim was organized and timed out in short but small waves. Tons of kayaks / lifeguards / jet skis to monitor for any water rescues.
The transition area was about a quarter mile from the beach but the RDs did put out a carpet for the barefoot runners.
The bike course was closed to traffic with volunteers and signs along the course with a few hills for a challenge.
The running path was partial out and back with runners on the left and one long hill.
Big event with plenty of space for spectators and a supportive party atmosphere. Live music, food trucks, and a beer garden but limited shade / seating.
Hydration stations at various points along the course and snacks for all athletes.
Nice SS tee and finisher medals.
Overall and 1st place age group awards.
The race is well run but TBH, I spent a large portion of the event confused! Not sure if it is because I am new to the Tri world or because the communication was lacking. Probably a little of both. I did enjoy this event and would like to return next year!
