Summary

What an outstanding event to run for my first 100 mile race. This was a beautiful course that ran between Akron and Cleveland Ohio along the Ohio Erie Canal Towpath Trail. The entire race was well organized from womb to tomb. This is a great race.

Canal Corridor 100 Review

I cannot say enough positive things about this race. I wanted to enjoy my first 100 but also finish in a decent time. This had the perfect ingredients to make that happen. Weather and temperatures have a really good chance of being cooler which gives a runner better opportunities to stay hydrated. The course is mostly flat with a few tough hills coming in and out of Akron and Cleveland. The towpath is very well maintained and it is a beautiful, scenic course especially running into Cleveland at night with the skyline lit up. The aid stations were plentiful and well stocked with crew access to most of them. Pacers were able to start at mile 47. There is not much negative to say. There were a lot of people walking, running, biking on the trail through the day. The race is capped at 250 runners and sold out. The only other negative was that there were a lot of road crossings and you had to pay attention. There is no question that I will certainly be considering running this one again and would recommend it to anyone looking for their first or their fastest!
