Brooks Hyperion Review

I've been running in these shoes for three weeks now and love them! They are the lightest road shoes I have ever tried. I would not recommend choosing the white color option. It gets very dirty very fast. Another overall great Brooks product!

Cushion and Support

Usually I go straight for a zero drop minimalist shoe (I trail run in Altra Lone Peaks), but the Hyperions give enough cushion to sustain me throughout long road runs. The cushion is comfortable without having too much give. I don't feel like I'm springing back or having rebound issues like I have with other high cushion shoes. With other brands and even some other Brooks models, the cushion causes me to run weird and have hip and knee discomfort. This is not the case with the Hyperions. I just wish I had found these shoes earlier in my running career!

Wide Toe Box

I usually wear barefoot-style shoes so my feet have enough room to spread out. I engage all my toes when I run. I have had many issues with crowding and my toes overlapping in typical road running shoes. Even wide sizes have sometimes been too tight for me. These shoes are surprisingly wide and comfortable in the toe box. Brooks does not have Hyperions in a wide, but these feel very similar to if they did offer a wide. If you are looking for a wide road runner, I would highly suggest this model!
