RX Bar - peanut butter Review

I’ve had many protein and energy bars over the years and most start to annoy me after a bit. They either cause my stomach to spazz (why would a company put 50% of my fiber needs in one bar!?) or they get boring (after a while, Nature Valley bars cease to amuse my taste buds). Aside from Clif bars, these are ones that I continue to enjoy for a pre-run fuel.

I like that the peanut butter flavor is not going to melt in my car or bag. I also like that it’s dense and easy to get down in the early morning hours when I’m not hungry but need some fuel.

While I don’t subscribe to “good” foods and “bad” foods (diet culture is not helpful in the slightest), I do like finding foods that taste good and help me feel good. RX bars do both, and they’ve never chased a stomach issue mis-run or mid-race.

They don’t taste AMAZING, in my opinion (the sea salt chocolate flavor is preferable, but will melt if it’s in a hot car). That being said, they’re reliable and good enough that I actually look forward to eating them before a run!
