King of Pain Review

The first Sunday in February is Glastonbury River runners, annual King of Pain. To be fair, both a king and a queen are crowned every year for the finisher in the male and female respective categories.

This race is named for a reason, the ridiculous elevation change, run in the freezing February weather.  Don't like February weather. You can run the course backwards, with nearly the same elevation, 6 months later.. Queen of Wrath.

This is a bucket list, kind of race.  It's a random town in a random state and it a real challenge. The Glastonbury River Runners (GRR) are a small club that puts on a good race.  This year in addition to a handmade wooden medallion, All runners received the surprise beanie.

Strongly encourage putting these two races on your bucket list.
