The Oiselle Roga Shorts took my personal running world by storm back in 2014 when the local running store first recommended them to me. I cleared all other shorts out of my life and made room for the the many Rogas I began to purchase, because each season, they release awesome colors.
They are super stretchy, with "Roga Stretch Woven fabric," feature a wide, flat waist bad that sits nicely on the hips without putting indentations in the skin like some scrunched-up waistbands do. The inner briefs are light and fitted, but they do cause chafing way up in the inner leg near the crotch ONLY when running more than 17 miles on trails in hot, humid conditions. For those types of runs, and for ultras, I run in Janji shorts, but I use the Oiselle Rogas for the majority of my runs.
Additionally, I love that I can sit low in a buddha squat without worrying about exposing myself, as the fabric stays flush with the skin unlike most running shorts that flare out, revealing the inner brief. I've even worn these to hot power yoga classes post-run and can do a split in them without fabric digging into my skin.
The zippered back pocket fits keys and a debit card, and even small fueling items like chews or gels.
Oiselle calls these their best-sellers, and I am happy to be one of those best buyers :) All the women I run with wear Rogas! I've worn these for white water kayaking as well, and even mountain biking.
I will say that the Rogas I bought in the past two years have legs that flare out a bit more than the older models, and I don't like it. My thighs are narrow and don't need the extra space in the legs. I really don't like useless fabric. Still, I love and recommend Rogas. Furthermore, Oiselle is a woman-led brand based in the United States with pro, legendary runners Lauren Fleshman and Kara Goucher on the team.
