Summary

They do the trick well.  Great performance - works great if you run with an iphone or cellular apple watch.  I've had some hiccups getting it to pair with the Garmin watches.  Sometimes slip out of my ears from sweat on long runs.

Apple AirPod Pro
4.0/5
(1)
Pros
  • great sound
  • can use one or two depending on how much awareness you need
  • easy to control music using Siri or air pod controls
  • sufficient battery
  • has microphone built in
Cons
  • they can slip out of your ears when you get really sweaty
  • they have problems if they get wet - thing splashing water on your face during a race

Other Apple AirPod Pro

I've been using airpod pros for years to run.  I love being able to take calls using them which allows me to go on runs during the work day.  I'm very careful to make sure they are never on "noise cancellation" setting to be aware of my surroundings.  Its also nice being able to control the songs from the built in controls or from Siri.  I have had issues with them connecting to my Garmin - nothing that is too difficult to overcome, but it isnt as easy as an apple watch.

Experience

Overall, these are my "go to" running headphones.  My alternative set are an "over the head" Beats Solo 3 which are my treadmill headphones.  I'll continue to use these until i find something that might stay in my ears better when i'm on long runs.
