Summary

As a big guy, I need to have water with me always.  Sometimes you want just a handheld.  This is my goto handheld.  Easy to hold/carry 21oz and a pocket to hold nutrition and a key clip.

Orangemud Handheld 21OZ

Orange Mud may be known for its quiver hydration vest, but this is a go-to item for me.  As a bigger guy, you need to drink more water as you are losing a lot through sweat, even in a 5K run.  When you don't need or want a vest, that can be hot, this handheld comes in handy.  It fits into your hand nicely.

The two things I don't like are the top part of the bottle; the lid and the tip.  I am afraid the lid will break at any moment as it doesn't seem to be the best construction.  I find the tip doesn't always close when I think it is, which then leads to leaking and no one has time for wasted water. I didn't mark the system down, because I think this is more me issue than a bottle issue.

I love having a small pocket that I could put some nutrition in if needed, but usually, that is where I put my keyfob so I don't have to have it in my pocket.  I love how my hand fits into the strap and the fact I can lock it down pretty well, that I don't even need to grip the bottle if I want my hand to have a break.

The bottle is easy to take out to clean.  The reflective trim helps keep you safe if you run at night.  Overall I love this bottle and have used it for hundreds of miles over the years.

Experience

https://www.orangemud.com/products/running-water-bottle-handheld-hydration-pack-orangeFor less than $30 you get a solid hydration system that will easily last, even for Big Guys that drink a lot, up to 10K race.  For some, a soft bottle is better and I do like soft bottles, but sometimes I want that hard feel.  This has been an amazing bottle that I have gone back to over and over again over the last 10 years.
