Garmin Forerunner 945

This is one of garmin’s premier fitness watches. What separates it from many others in the line up is the triathlon and Multisportmode. It allows the athlete to switch modes (including transitions) with the touch of one button. Like the bigger brother the fenix, it has numerous activities to choose from leaving the user customizable options throughout. Data fields within the activities are customizable as well.

Weight: The forerunner 945 is a very light weight fitness watch and is great for those with smaller and slimmer wrists.

The water proof ability of the fenix is outstanding. I have take it in pools, lakes, rivers, and oceans with no problems. The GPS has always been accurate when compared to others with garmin or competing brand watches.

Battery life: I can say after two years of use the battery still has plenty of life. It has held up to a half Ironman without a problem. I and sure it could hold up to a full if needed.

Garmin connect: the watch connects well to the app, tracking and displaying your daily fitness in a calendar view as well as daily view. I like the app and use it to track a lot of workouts.

Overall, the forerunner 945 is a premier fitness watch and aimed at those with the multisport goals. For those looking for a pure running watch, there are other cheaper options but for those in triathlons this is a practical option that doesn’t get in the way during races.

Experience

I have used this watch for two years in daily training, community runs, cycling events, and triathlons from sprint to half Ironman.
