The event is to bring awareness and to support African American Women combat health conditions in which a small running group was started. The BGR! running community is now nationwide.
This race linked well with Strava to upload your run, walk, or hike. The site used Challengehound.com which was very interactive and user friendly. It tracks your progress as an individual runner and your team progress. It also showed if you were on par with the event time frame.
This event did have the option to get paired up with someone you didn't know. I thought this was neat, using social media as a platform to meet another runner in another state, working towards completing a virtual race, cheering each other on.
This year, the event was held for 30 days. I personally missed this piece of information when I signed my team up for the 200 mile race. Last year, the event was held for 45 days. There are options for shorter distances.
