I was sent a pair of AllSwifit Active5K for review, and if you're just starting out, looking for a recovery shoe, or your mileage isn't crazy high, these may be a good fit for you. I took the shoes out on a six, an eight, and a 10-mile run, and they're really comfortable. The shoes are lightweight, which makes a huge difference, with a Supercritical SupFoam that gives a nice bounce as you go.
The upper is breathable, and the tongue is plush, which keeps the laces from digging in, which is something I've had happen in really expensive shoes. There is a pull loop at the back, keeping me from having to pull out my trusty shoe horn. Even the laces have a heft to them, and I often find that laces seem to be an afterthought in a lot of the shoes I've tried. The stack looks very high, but it's not. I did a couple of long walks and hikes in these as well, and I never worried that I was going to turn an ankle on uneven terrain. I also love that the back of the heel is cushioned, so there were no hot spots or blisters beginning to form after my 10 miles.
The only drawback for a runner like me is that they don't have a ton of structure to them. Now, that's not a bad thing for someone who does a lower-mileage week or is starting out. When I started, too much structure in a shoe, meaning my feet felt really locked in, made me feel a bit claustrophobic. In a way, I think these give a newer runner or someone doing recovery runs more space for swelling feet without any pinching. If you're new to running, or you're looking for a casual running shoe, or even if walking and hiking is more your speed, the AllSwifit Active5K are a fantastic choice.
