If I could compare this midsole to another underfoot feel, Adidas Lightstrike Pro (as found in the Pro 3 and Evo SL) along with some formulations of Nitro Foam by Puma would be the closest feel I could compare. I love this foam and I'm not afraid to sing it to the world. It has that airy dense spring to it that just propels you forward. It is an extremely lively foam.
I don't always get along with plates and that includes non-carbon ones. So I took a little chance buying a fully carbon plated shoe. When I say fully, I mean it extends a bit out past the heel. I will link to Anta's tech spec page and you can look at the plate design if interested. What I can tell you is that it is the best organic set up of foam, plate and geometry I have encountered.

So, is this midsole for racing or is it a super trainer? My thoughts on that are "it depends". For me, it is probably a mix of race day shoe and super trainer usage. I am not sure if I would want to use a full carbon plate shoe for a full marathon, but that is mainly based on my own likes, speeds and experiences. I would easily use this for race day on a half marathon or below. On my 15 mile run, it did brilliantly.
I feel as though this shoe is not quite set up for the elite speeds, but is more geared democratically towards more runners. When I was walking in the shoe, it was not as awkward as I was expecting. It was way more comfortable to walk in that the Hyperion Max 3 or Cielo shoes by Hoka. So I think the set up is better for a higher range of paces, but may just not the higher end.
Which means for me, it is perfect.
Short story: I took these shoes to run club at Eureka Heights brewery in Houston, Texas. I had some other runners ask to try them on and their faces were all like "holy Sh*t" those are nice. And then I told them the price..........
