Real Men Modal Mid-Rise Briefs Review

I tried both the trunk briefs and briefs while running multiple 5k runs. Both fit as a lower rise underwear, which I found to be comfortable, especially while running. I refer to myself as a minimalist runner, meaning I run with the least amount of gear as possible. These are very soft and thin, and fit well vs. thicker fabric underwear. They fit snug under my running shorts and did not bunch up or move around.

I find that when running long distances, it is difficult to find underwear that provides the support I need. The supportive pouch of this product is amazing. Many running shorts either have a built-in brief or boxer brief. I have never cared for built in liner briefs because they lack support, often just being a mesh product or a tight compression short. I don't like extra fabric compressing, especially when it doesn't actually offer any support. These are the opposite. The pouch cradles and lifts, creating support and eliminating bouncing from many miles of running.

Especially interesting is that there are 4 sizes of pouches available. Their website clearly teaches you what pouch size you will need, and if you are wrong on sizing, they are cooperative in helping you exchange your product for a better fit. Size matters, even for runners, and you will be amazed at how supportive the correct sized pouch can be.

Modal Boxer Brief 7" length

Modal 3" Trunk boxer brief

If I'm wearing a boxer brief style underwear, I prefer shorter vs. longer for various reasons.
1. I don't like a lot of extra fabric.
2. I want to stay cool. Too much fabric holds heat in.
3. I don't like when my underwear is longer than my running shorts, so these are a good option.

I found that these have a low-rise fit. Pulling them up too high will create discomfort. When wearing them lower, they were supportive and fit well. Don't pull them up too high, try wearing them lower than traditional boxer brief underwear. Remember to think low-rise. If you honor this, they will provide support while running.
