Sizing:
True to size. However, after years of running in shoes with a natural toe box, the more traditional narrow shape is noticeable. It’s an adjustment and not one I’m particularly thrilled about.
Quality:
The overall build seems durable and well-made. No complaints there so far.
Performance:
These are marketed as a recovery shoe, but I’m not experiencing much of a recovery benefit. They’re not especially cushy. I’ve been using my Adidas Adissage sandals, which have massage nubs that genuinely help relieve tightness after long runs. Compared to those, the Kanes don’t provide that same relief.
They are more practical than sandals for walking around a venue or being outside post-run, which is a plus. But functionally, they feel more like slipping into a regular daily sneaker just with added breathability and a Croc-like aesthetic.
Overall:
They’re not terrible, but they don’t feel worth the $80 price tag for me -- however, I'm all about supporting brands that are committed to sustainability. Their shoes are made from sugarcane plus they donate 1% of their gross sales to environmental non-profits. My purchase supports a worthy cause.
