Here is a short breakdown of my Coros Apex Pro 1. I purchased this back in 2021, truly for the battery life. It has paid for itself multiple times, by now! I will typically charge my watch about every week and half once training upwards of 10hours a week. Overall, very little complaints.
As an ultra-marathoner, I need gear that can go the distance—literally. The COROS Apex Pro 1 has been a reliable partner through long runs, big climbs, and race days. I have had my watch since 2021, with a great overall experience that continues to today. Here’s a short and honest breakdown of my experience with the watch.
Features & Ease of Use
The COROS app is clean and easy to use. I love how customizable the watch screens are and how smooth the touchscreen + dial navigation feels. It tracks everything from GPS, cadence, power, elevation, to even sleep stats.
Frequent watch face updates are a nice touch. I can use this watch from the trail, to the track, dialing my own watch screens to adapt!
Performance & Accuracy
GPS and elevation tracking are accurate and consistent. The wrist-based heart rate sensor does the job for most runs but isn’t perfect during high-output efforts. I use the Coros arm band HR strap as an added piece to get a more accurate HR, on the fly and on my overall workout stats.
Battery Life & Durability
The battery life is outstanding—I can go multiple long runs or even a full ultra without charging. The watch body is tough, but I’ve broken three bands under normal use, which is frustrating.
Value for Money
Now that it’s priced lower, the Apex Pro 1 offers incredible value. Great performance, killer battery, and ongoing software updates—if only the band held up better.
Final Thoughts
Despite the band issues, I still choose this watch for my ultra training and racing. The battery, design, and app experience make it a strong contender for any serious runner looking to get the most out of their daily runs, to races 15+ hours.
