The rabbit Dream Chaser 2.0 caught me completely off guard. Usually, I track running shoe releases pretty closely, but this one flew under my radar. Known best for their high-performance apparel, rabbit is still finding its lane in the shoe world and the Dream Chaser 2.0 is a strong step forward. If you ran in the original and liked it, the updated version improves nearly every aspect. It’s lighter, better ventilated, and thoughtfully refined for the day-to-day miles. For runners who want sustainable materials, reliable comfort, and a consistent ride, this shoe delivers.

The upper has been completely redesigned using a new recycled knit material. It’s thinner and more breathable than the original, which is a huge plus for runners in hot climates. Extra venting around the toe and sidewalls helps with airflow, and I was relieved it didn’t compromise performance: recycled uppers can be hit or miss, but this one works (I've used so many shoes that use recycled products and they just don't breathe well).
The updated knit also has less stretch, which improves midfoot security without making the shoe feel stiff. The toe box has enough space without feeling sloppy, and the fit feels dialed-in right out of the box. The heel collar features molded memory foam, keeping things soft but supportive. For sizing, I went with a women’s 11: typical for me and had no issues with hotspots or pressure.
One thing I really appreciate: rabbit started with a women's-specific last before scaling up to men's sizing. It's a refreshing design choice in an industry that often does the reverse.
To be honest, you don't need a heck of a lot in a daily trainer running upper. Something you can trust to feel good and that fits well. rabbit accomplishes this and uses recycled materials: all a huge win!
At the core of the Dream Chaser 2.0 is rabbit’s Flowstate Foam. It strikes a comfortable middle ground: not overly plush, but still protective. This isn’t a maximalist shoe, and it’s not trying to be. Instead, the cushioning offers enough give to support recovery efforts without feeling mushy or slow.
What helps set the ride apart is the Carbon Trax rocker system. It’s a mild rocker design that subtly guides your foot forward. You won’t feel forced into any one motion, but transitions stay smooth and steady. There’s a centered feel underfoot that makes the ride feel even, no matter the pace.
The Blumaka insole is another highlight. Made from 85% recycled ETPU, it’s both cushioned and structured, offering better durability and foot-conforming support than standard insoles. You’ll notice it the second you step in, it gives the shoe a more premium feel.
As for where this fits in my rotation: it’s a reliable daily trainer. I reach for it when I want a shoe that doesn’t demand much mental energy...just lace up and go. It’s not my pick for workouts, but it can handle a little pace work in a pinch.
The outsole is made from partially recycled rubber and has just enough grip for road running and light trail use. It’s not built for mountain trails or off-road adventures, but it performs well on pavement, gravel paths, and even in a little rain.
After putting plenty of miles on the first version, I expect similar durability here: around 400 miles. The rubber is strategically placed to protect high-impact zones without dragging the shoe down in weight.
The rabbit Dream Chaser 2.0 is a solid, no-nonsense daily trainer. It doesn’t need flashy tech or aggressive marketing...it just works. It fits well, breathes well, and offers the kind of cushioning that makes you want to get out the door again the next day. And it does all that with sustainable materials and thoughtful design choices that respect both performance and the planet.
If you’re looking for a reliable trainer that does the everyday stuff well and has a personality that matches the rabbit brand...fun, smart, and slightly under-the-radar...the Dream Chaser 2.0 is a good option.
