Potential bias in review

1. I have harsh mechanics
2. I am a neutral runner
3. I have a standard to narrow, accommodating foot shape
4. My left foot turns out slightly (slight toe out), which leads to an awkward flow of my left heel and tends to rub the ground when my mechanics get tired.  This leads to outsoles dying quickly in combination with my harsh overall mechanics.
5. I am a pro level sweat machine.  This is one of the reasons I have a good rotation of shoes, I like to let them air out.
6. I started running at an older age, no proper training and my steady pace is in the mid 9 minute per mile range.

Pricing / Brooks restart

MSRP for this shoe is $140.00, which is a great price point for this shoe in today's market.

I purchased this shoe "like new" for $65.00 on the Brooks Restart site.  This is a site they have where they resell returned shoes.  They assess each shoe, categorize the condition and then resell them at a lower price.  Asics and New Balance also have a program like this from a shoe brand perspective.  REI does this for members in their re-supply area.
*Note, I got an extra 5% off for a holiday sale deal as well

Just wanted to make sure people were aware of this.  I think they don't allow returns for resell shoes (REI doesn't, considered as is), but it is still a great way to get into a shoe you want to try cheaper or find a shoe you know you like for cheaper

Upper

This is one of the best uppers I have encountered.  The upper is light, breathable, has an offset lacing structure, gusseted tongue and sawtooth lacing system.  The upper is just fantastic.  If you have read my other reviews, especially the Adidas ones, I wish Adidas would put these laces on their shoes.  They are legit.

Outsole

Brooks has a nice sporadic covering of rubber on the bottom, which provides great traction in all conditions and is showing good durability to this point in usage. (47.5 Miles)

I am also a big fan of the style of the shoe, it is one I have worn out and about as it is a nice looking shoe.

Midsole

It is not the max cushion shoe that is so popular right now.  The DNA flash 2 foam is a lively foam that gives you that traditional road feel feedback, but also provides nice protection to the feet.  The shoe is very flexible, which is great for building/maintaining foot strength.

The Orange mush that is laying on my shoe, loves them as well.   For him they are a great Pillow =)

Future iteration

Based on video's coming out of the annual Running Event, the Hyperion 3 is set to release in the summer of 2025 and is gaining stack, gaining some weight (but still lightweight) and getting a full new upper.  So if you are a fan of the 2, keep an eye out for those deals!

Final thoughts/recommendations

I would recommend this shoe for daily use, especially for variable speed work outs, up tempo workouts, speed work and even steady mile runs.  I would probably keep this shoe in the 0-8 mile range, but those with stronger feet may be able to enjoy a higher mileage usage of them.

It is really a fantastic shoe to have in the rotation.
