I haven't been able to drink coffee for years. It always bothered my stomach, so I found other (far less tasty) ways to get caffeine. As I was scrolling through Facebook one day, I saw an offer for a free sample of Long Run Coffee, which is infused with electrolytes. I figured it was worth a shot. I got it, and I was blown away! I could drink coffee and run with no stomach issues.
The coffee has sodium bicarbonate, potassium gluconate, calcium citrate, and magnesium citrate to help fuel your workouts. I've been drinking it for a month now, and I cannot believe how yummy it is! I ended up becoming an ambassador for the product with a discount code because I love it so much. Maybe it was the Pre-Run PB&J flavor or the Post-Race Banana that pushed me over the edge, but I'm hooked. They're coming out with new flavors all the time.
I tried this before my 12th marathon last week (prepping for my 13th in three more) to see if it would hold me through a race, and it did. I also had my non-runner husband try it to see if he noticed anything about the taste. (I didn't tell him what I made. I just said, "new coffee.") He loved it and asked for more. (He's a fan of medium roast Junk Miles.)
As runners, we know what coffee can do to us, especially before a long run. I actually stayed close to home, doing two-mile loops in my neighborhood for 20 miles, you know, just in case. My tummy was in great shape. I even carried it with me to the marathon to make in the hotel room. (They have travel packs on the site.)
If you've ever had to give up coffee, you know how sad it is. I used to stand outside coffee shops and just sniff the air. I'm so happy I found this.
Mary Ann Ratajczak I'm about to order the coffee !!! Can't wait to try it. Great review
