Other Elevation Review

Do you wish you can eat Cliff bars but don't want to have to pay the price of Cliff bars? If so then the Elevation bar can potentially be a good option. Considering what bars cost they are relatively cheap (you can get a pack of four for $3.99 and that was true even before the major inflation happened) and they can be a good source of nutrition, before, during, and after your workout, which is something that is not something that often happens in the sports nutrition industry. The rest of this article will explore why.

Why it's a good preworkout

Elevation bars can be a good pre workout source due to the fact that it has one component that a lot of other bars don't - caffeine. As you see from the picture it only has six grams of sugar, so just enough to give you a boost and it is also a good source of protein so if you plan on expending a lot energy during your run or workout then the bar has the potential to keep you fuller for a longer period of time.
Why it can be good during the workout

It can be good during the workout cause in addition to having caffeine it also has a healthy source of carbs, 18 grams to be exact. Generally on long runs you should eat 30 to 60 grams of carbs if you plan on going longer than an hour and fifteen minutes, according to an article in Runner's World so if you choose to use the bar in this way it may not be a bad idea to either bring something else with you or have a plan to eat immediately afterward if your run is going to be about that long.

Why it can be good post-workout

As it has already been established, this bar is an excellent source of protein at 24 grams and is extremely filling for a bar that size. It also has a low number of ingredients such as turmeric, some of which are excellent for post-workout, although the exact ingredients can vary as there are multiple flavors such as caramel chocolate nut, cookies and cream and more.
