While I've done long distancing running for approximately 10 years I've done some form of running all my life and my motivations have changed. Up through high school, I did it to stay in physical shape as I played on a couple of basketball teams, one in a boys club league and the other is through a church league. I didn't do much if any in college but after graduating college and getting married my wife wanted to lose weight and use races as a matter of motivation to help her do that. I decided to join and ever since then it has become a lifestyle. Since I work from home and we share a car I usually take my wife to work on Friday's and get to run in very scenic parts of Chattanooga every week. I also occasionally will use scenic back country roads to run on as well.
