In the past two years I have attend the Glass City marathon event weekend. Last year I ran the full distance marathon and due to an injury early in the training cycle I decided to back out of the full and run the half distance race. It was super easy to transfer out of the full and into the half distance. There is also an option to upgrade from the half to the full for a small fee. You don't always see this in other races I have done. Last year the temperature was around 60 degrees at the start line and just kept getting warmer. This year it was all about having enough layers to keep you warm at the start line at 34 degrees. The course runs mostly through neighborhoods and around the university are in Toledo. Plenty of aid stations with water and Gatorade. The half distance didn't have energy gels on it but the full course does. This is a fun weekend where they also offer a 5k race on Saturday. After finishing the half distance race there is good runner accommodations an food after the race. They also keep everything close to the finish so I was able to get my warm clothes and some food with plenty of time to go back to the finish line to see the Men's and Women's full distance winners cross the finish line. This year both the full distance records were set. If you want a fast and well put together weekend look into the Glass City Marathon weekend featuring the Owens Corning half marathon.
