So I replaced my Hoka Cliftons with these NB 1080s to be my main daily trainer. So far my first impressions have been great. I've put on around 50 miles now and they are really starting to gel. They Fresh Foam is super soft, but not in the overly pillow effect that can happen. The mid sole is a bit harder in the right way to make the shoes feel snappy of I want to push the pace on my runs. I'm not breaking any PRs with these, but if I throw in some fartleks they will keep up with the speed I need. The top of the shoe feels good around my foot and is quite breathable which will be a benefit once the warmer months come. My only complaint was getting the laces adjusted to my feet. I felt for the first 30 miles of runs I used these on I was always looking for that sweet spot, and I couldn't find it. I finally basically loosened the laces up and started from scratch and that has made all the difference. Being 50 miles plus in on these shoes now I have seen almost zero wear on the treads which is what I want out of a daily trainer. I'm interested to see how they look at 200 and also how snappy that Fresh Foam still is. But so far they have been pretty stellar.
This is my second pair of NB shoes for running. A few years ago I put 400 plus miles on a pair of 880s and wanted to see how their other shoes go. I average these winter days around 25 miles a week pushing my one year old in a running stroller. Plus the occasional trail run and race
