Nuun prides itself on being a plant based nutrition option for consumers with line ups supporting immune health all the way to their podium series which comprises of 3 categories: prime (before workout), endurance (during long workouts) and recovery (post activity). While I have used all 3, I am reviewing the endurance one here as I believe it was the most beneficial and important.
Triathletes and ultra runners are always looking to find something during the run to keep them going. This nuun endurance does just that. It provides the electrolytes needed along with carbohydrates to keep you going. When drinking as recommended after 90 minutes of workouts I felt refreshed and had energy to go another hour without fear of cramping up. So it did the job. Thumbs up in my book there.
Taste: the lemon lime did not taste to bad. It was like a really salty Gatorade. If you do not like lemon lime in a strong manner then this is not for you. If you do then you may like it and it taste better the colder it is.
Digestion: the mix is a powder so there is no tablet dissolving. It did not make me feel bloated or cause any stomach issues whatsoever.
In conclusion, the nuun endurance does exactly what it is supposed to and is easy on the stomach. While I have found better tasting options (infinit and science in sport) this is something that I do not mind using during long workouts. I don’t give it 5 stars because I simply enjoy other brands more. If you are looking for a plant based option then definitely give this one a try.
I have used the product numerous times on long bike rides, runs and during brick workouts. I have even used it in a few triathlons but mostly in training.
