OOFOS recovery footwear launched in 2011 in Braintree, Mass.

The OOFOS founders include: 

• Juan Dias
• Lou Panaccione
• Paul Brown
• Steve Liggett

These four athletic-shoe-industry veterans spent a combined 100 years designing shoes for Nike, Reebok and other brands.

The idea for OOFOS emerged when they recognized a need for recovery sandals, something most brands didn't offer in 2011.

After developing some recovery sandal prototypes, the founders asked people to try them on and provide feedback.

• The typical response:  "OOOO! These feel amazing!"
• They shared the feedback with the marketing team and "OOFOS" became the brand name.

 Casey McCombs (featured in The Rundown) was the OOFOS sales sales rep of the year in 2019.

"When I started working there, I was their fourth employee," says Casey. "I helped build the company's brand, educate sales reps and dealers, and teach them how to explain the OOFOS brand to customers. Now it's the industry leader in recovery footwear."

Today, Casey is a territory sales representative for Topo Athletics.
