When we first adopted our dog two and a half years ago, I opted for a name-brand hands-free leash that I'd heard of. The open-close feature on it didn't last. Then I tried a popular brand on Amazon (I reviewed it on this site, at the time). That one stretched out a ton and I eventually found it fraying, as well. So when I saw JC House Store offered a seemingly quality leash with a lifetime warranty, I jumped on the opportunity. I figured it may last as long as my previous leash, and at $20, it would be a good deal even if the lifetime warranty didn't actually pan out.
A year and a half later, I can attest to the quality of the leash build as well as the responsiveness of the company! Almost exactly a year after purchasing the leash, mine broke. I contacted the company through Amazon and received a brand new one in the mail, no fee and no questions asked. I'll never have to buy another running leash again!
I love this leash for plenty of reasons, the first being that it is very durable and looks great. :) A few perks I particularly like are:
Since I mentioned having to test the lifetime warranty promise a few months ago, you may be wondering what caused the leash to break. It was indeed the metal clasp that was attached to my dog's harness. I always put it on the back of her for running and the front for hiking. The day it broke, she saw a deer and went sprinting after it. She's incredibly strong and the metal nub slipped from the actual metal hook. My husband found a way to get it back in afterward, but it wasn't stable enough for me to want to try again.
What I will say is that the breaking of the leash stunned my dog enough (she thought she'd have to pull harder but was suddenly free) that she didn't go far. I also want to emphasize the fact that she is a muscular pup and we are very heavy users of the leash. I used it for a year on a near-daily basis before I had an issue with it breaking. Due to that, I fully trust this leash. I'll probably just be cautious and look at that attachment around 10-11 months after having this new one (which will be Spring 2026). If I'd count up all our uses of the leash, it's over 400+ for the year I had it (so many hikes, camping trips, and runs!), and that's plenty good in my view. It's always been fabulous!
As far as the actual warranty and replacement process, I thought it would be a hassle but it was quite seamless. I simply messaged the company through Amazon (via the purchase history page for the product), sent a screenshot of my purchase, gave my address, and specified I wanted the same color (pink). The leash arrived just 2 days later!
