As someone who lives in Southern California, hydration is important to me. I regularly run 20 miles in the heat (because I just can't get up super early on weekends), and I often visit friends in Nevada where the humidity percentage might as well say "dry as sand." I run with a hydration vest, but since I can't stand liquid sloshing in my tummy, I often hydrate before and after my runs. I was sent the Zulu Goals 64 oz Water Bottle in Violet, which is a pretty pale purple (they have other colors as well), and filled it up with water and Gatorade Zero packets.
My big issue with a lot of large water bottles is that they often leak. It drives me nuts, and it always seems to happen when I'm wearing a white shirt. I was told that this one wouldn't do that, so I not only gave it a shot, but I stored it upside down when it was full. Nothing came out of the top, but also, the sides were completely dry. No liquid escaped from the screw top. I had it upside down for two hours! (I had a grey shirt wrapped around it so I could absolutely see marks if it did.)
I'm a picky straw person as well, and this one is wide enough to clean in the dishwasher. In fact, every part of it is dishwasher safe. You can detach the straw as well, and the opening gives you enough liquid that you don't have to purse your lips and Hoover it up. The handle has a soft grip that won't slide either, which I found out when I took it hiking. Even better is the fact that it's not metal. If you've ever been startled by a metal water bottle clanging on the floor (it always happens in yoga classes), you know what a big deal this is. The top is great as well, because it's large enough to put ice in, as well as your hand and arm if you choose to hand wash.
I was sent this product for review.
