AHNU Sequence 1.1 Sport Review

First let's talk about the look. I've gotten more compliments than any other shoe with the Ahnu Sequence 1.1 Sport. Almost all of my friends are like, wow love that shoe. It looks stylish and comfortable. (yes, because your girl is never in fashion trends. I say the all white leather shoe makes me feel "young" again).

The upper on the Sequence 1.1 Sport uses ultra-soft leather that gives a premium touch and adapts nicely to your foot over time. It creates a snug, glove-like fit as you wear it more. The shoe is built with webbing that keeps the tongue in place, and microfiber lace locks add some extra hold across the midfoot. It feels relaxed overall and supports different insoles, which is great if you wear orthotics.

Even though the upper is made of leather, it’s shockingly lightweight. I didn’t even realize it was leather until I checked the tech sheet: it breathes and moves more like a performance knit.

Sizing-wise, I’ve found the fit to be spot-on. I don’t like anything too snug in a casual shoe (and honestly, no shoe should be). I typically wear between a size 10–11 wide in everyday footwear, and the size 11 here works perfectly for me.

Given that Ahnu comes from the same family as HOKA and UGG, I expected the ride to be comfortable and it seriously is. I had this moment where I thought, “Have all my casual shoes just been bad this whole time?” Probably not, but the Sequence 1.1 Sport takes comfort to another level. It is one of the most comfortable casual shoes I own and I do not say that lightly.

The shoe features SCF TPU foam in the midsole, designed for rebound and softness. It cushions every step while giving a slight spring, so you’re not just sinking into the shoe. The carbon-fiber plate is forked for added stability and gentle propulsion. I’m still not totally sure why a casual shoe has a carbon plate, but I’m not questioning it because it works.

Instead of standard rubber, Ahnu uses a CPU (Cast Polyurethane) outsole on the Sequence 1.1 Sport. This choice makes the shoe lighter and adds flexibility, while also improving traction. I’m not the most graceful person, so I appreciate any grip I can get especially in my everyday shoes. These haven’t slipped once. My only concern when it rains is keeping the leather clean, not worrying about falling.

Retailing at $240, the Ahnu Sequence 1.1 Sport sits in the premium casual shoe category. With its luxe materials and high-tech features, the price makes sense. Is it a splurge? Most definetly. But for a shoe that blends the best of casual and performance design, I think it earns its price tag. As runners, we’re often hesitant to spend this much on shoes that aren’t for training but when compared to other premium lifestyle brands, this isn’t out of range.

To sum it up, I really love the Ahnu Sequence 1.1 Sport. It hits that sweet spot of style and comfort. I’ve gotten multiple compliments with people asking where I got them. If you want a shoe that pairs modern tech with timeless design, this is a great pick. It's one of those shoes that makes you feel a little more put-together even when you're just running errands or heading into work. I kind of feel like a mini fashion influencer in them LOL.
