As I mentioned above, I really wanted to love these shoes but I only just like them. Testing in the store feel great, I am looking to replace my Hoka Mach as a daily trainer. Nikes claim I'm responsive cushioning made this, from an advertising standpoint, a good alternative. Weighing about the same as the Mach 6, and a little bit lighter than the Mach X, It seemed about as close to apples to apples comparison as one can get when switching brands.
A logical assumption would be with double the stack height should be double the cushion? Did not find that here. Understanding that it is a different type of foam in the sole, It is very dense. I would not say it is responsive at all. However, One of the issues with many Hoka products is over pronation, and Pegasus Plus is a much more neutral shoe.
The plan was for this shoe to be in a rotation with my Mach. She on the left is the Mach 6, with 216 mi on it (Yes I am a heel striker!). Whereas the Pegasus Plus only has 25 mi on it, That soul still looks brand new, out the box. I have the utmost confidence in the durability of this soul.
