Great product. Neversecond's C30 gels show that you get what you pay for. At $3.5-4 per gel, they certainly are pricey. But they might be the best gels I've ever had. I love the smooth, light texture and not-too-strong tastes. They taste like what they're supposed to. I like that I can pronounce all the ingredients. I am excited to take one on my long runs, which hasn't been the case with other gels. I typically fuel with all-natural products, so this is a big win for Neversecond in my books!
I love how easy this product is to consume. It has a thinner consistency than most other gels I've tried, so it goes down smooth. I didn't feel the need to take it with water because of the texture. The taste is great. Ever has a freezy pop? They taste just like that! They brought back memories of my childhood, which added an unexpected pep in my step while running. I felt like a kid running around outside!
I tried to open a gel while on a long treadmill run and it didn't actually open to the inside. It looks like the tab ripped open, but there is no hole to get the gel out. Tough to consume if there isn't an opening. I luckily had my keys with me so I could punch a hole in it. As pricey as these gels are, it would be a bummer to be mid-race and not be able to open it. I couldn't rip it with me teeth, even though I tried.
I take a gel usually every 35-45 minutes while on a long run after the first hour. I love that Neversecond gives me sustained energy. No crashes or energy high. I felt fatigued during this run, but taking one of these gels picked me up. It has 120 calories with 200mg of sodium and 30g of carbs. Perfect combination. Supplementing with electrolyte tabs between, I could easily fuel an ultra on these gels alone.
