Summary

Merino Country generously offered me an opportunity to try two of their 100% Merino Wool products. This was a first for me, and it was a learning experience and an opportunity to try natural Australian grown and made products.

Merino Country Apparel Review

Merino Country generously sent me a t-shirt and pair of the Wundies Briefs to try out while running. I have heard a lot about wool clothing being worn for running. I have tried socks and underwear made with wool + synthetic fabric blends, but here was my opportunity to try out 100% wool products.

Did I like 100% wool? Yes and no. I noticed that after a long run, my clothing was not damp or wet. The wool seems to really wick away the moisture effectively and quickly. I liked was that I could hang out for awhile before showering. Usually, my clothes stink after a run, and I want to shower and change clothes right away to reduce the smell of sweaty clothing.

I noticed that the 100% wool products don't seem to have a lot of stretch compared to synthetic fabrics. Most wool blends fit better and stretch, creating a more comfortable fit. I worry that if the clothing doesn't stretch to my body, or fit well, there will be problems with a lack of support where I need it most, and possible chafing.

Overall, I feel Country Merino produces high quality products. They are a small company, and the products are made in smaller batches, grown and made in Australia, naturally. I don't find products very often that aren't made in China or some Island I've never heard of. The con to small company made products like this is, the options for more diverse fittings as other athleisure apparel isn't available.
These products could be considered expensive to some. As of May 2024, The t-shirt retails for $78. The briefs retail for $27/pair. I haven't personally ever paid that much for a t-shirt or briefs, but I also hadn't ever bought a 100% merino wool product. There are a lot of name-brand athleisure products that cost similary, while some are less, and some are more. If you want to try a wool product like this, then do so.

Black Shirt and Black Briefs

1. Great for cooler temps.
2. Shirt is a bit short.
3. Unique retail packaging
4. T-shirt unpackaged
5. Briefs unpackaged

1. With fresh snow on the mountains at my 4,500 elevation home, today was a bit cooler. It was only 45 degrees Fahrenheit. However, the shirt kept me stay comfortably warm on my run. Not too warm, and never too cold. It seemed like the perfect
2. When I bent over to tie my shoe, my underwear was exposed due to my shirt not covering my back fully. This may bother some users, if so, you may want to look for a longer shirt.
3. Unique packaging with no plastic or non-recyclable products.

This is an incentivized review

These products was sent to me from Merino Country in exchange for a review of their products.
