Summary

Headphones that allow you to listen to music while hearing the outside world! great for cycling and running outside but perhaps not the best for the gym. Super comfortable and never shift on my face. Forget that I have them on most of the time!

Aftershokz Shokz OpenRun Headphones Review

As a cyclist, I am constantly worried about and listening for cars on the road. I also like to have music for those rides lasting 3-4 hours on end. Shokz (formerly aftershokz) has solved this problem for me! I used to use Powerbeats Pro for athletic activities but the shokz open run headphones allow me to hear the music and outside world equally. Read below to find out details:

Music quality: The quality is not as good as the Powerbeats Pro, but then again the point is to allow outside noise in so it’s a completely different purpose. The quality is goon enough that I can hear all types of music and podcasts with ease and still hear outside noise. If you are getting them as workout headphones then it’s perfect. maybe not for studio quality music.

Comfort: I was worried about these upon purchase as they sit on the front of your ear, but I can say that these are super comfortable. I have never had to readjust them and forget they are on at times. They do not interfere with my helmet or hat when running.

Battery Life: The headphones tell you the power level when you turn them on. I run 3-4 miles 3-4 times a week and can usually go two weeks before having to charge them. Once they do get low, they fully charge within 30 minutes. I give both thumbs up for battery life and charging speed. The charging cable is a different other brands meaning it is another cord you have to keep up with but I like the magnetic charging capability and it connects super fast so I do not mind this.

Overall, I am very happy with the openrun headphones. They are my go to for workouts and I find myself going straight for them over the Powerbeats due to their charging consistency, outside noise transparency, and comfort.
