As summer days transitioned into cold, windy days, I was on the lookout for some extra layers to keep me comfortable outside. These hiking pants may not be an extra warm layer, but they're water-resistant, and they keep the wind out. Right now, I'm using them as an extra windbreaker layer over my lined leggings, and I love how light and comfortable they are. They've been great on windy days - and just as an extra layer on moderately chilly days. They have four zipper pockets, which is awesome - because there's no such thing as too many pockets. And even though hiking pants usually have a bit of a swish to them, you won't hear me coming from a mile away in these.
I can definitely see these being year-round pants. Great for comfortable traveling or for keeping the bugs away on summer walks - or for that extra wind block during the cold months.
So far, I've worn them just on cooler days as an extra layer.
