The Saucony triumph 19 model is saucony’s latest model of road trainer. With its power run technology providing a cushion that rivals Hoka. It has a nylon plate running through the shoe to provide a snappy toe off and transition from heel to toe efficiently and smoothly.
The shoe boasts an 8mm heel to toe drop that fits between the 5mm hoka shoes and the 12mm brooks and ASICS making it a great transition shoe for those looking to take pressure off of the knees. However for those used to lower drops and zero drop shoes, this may feel like running in a high heel and will take time getting used to.
The shoe has an amazingly breathable synthetic upper that is durable but dries very quickly. Compared to the hoka bondis this shoe feels like it has a fan in it! It is great for summer runs.
Overall, I love the shoe but I have been used to the 4mm drops and zero drop shoes so this takes getting used to. I felt increased soreness in my quads and knees after running with this compared to the hokas because of the plantarflexed state it puts the foot in therefore increasing pressure on the knee. However, it’s is still a show that I am trying to keep in the rotation due to the comfortability and breathability. Definitely a premier shoe for road runners and one you need to consider.
I have run hundreds of miles in the following shoes: hoka one one bondi 6 and 7, challenger atr 6, altra torin 4.5. I use the Saucony endorphin speeds for races and have been introducing the triumphs into runs that I use the bondis on.
Wee views graciously provided the shoes for me to wear as a rising star!
