Quest for the Crest

All of these race courses are on about as dangerous and treacherous of trails as you can get. All the races have multiple spots where if you slip and fall you could fall to your death. The trails are rocky, sometimes involve scrambling on all 4s and have semi exposed climbing for 10-20 ft here and there. This can not be your first trail race. The climbs are massive. The terrain is remote. A rescue could take 12 hours, where in that time you do not survive. You are responsible for your OWN safety out there. You will 100% have to use the water filter to filter water. We love y'all and want you to be safe. We strongly advise getting onto the race course prior to the race to see what you’re getting into. We know it seems like we have a lot of rules and don’t do this or that. We are here to love and support ya’ll however your safety and the safety of the local search and rescue is more important to us than people's feelings getting hurt. If you are severely overweight, elderly and not super mobile from those then please this race is not for you. Help us keep everyone safe. We have many other races that are great for all bodies, ages and abilities… please consider one of those instead.

Summary

“Beauty Comes at a Price” This is probably the toughest race that I have ever ran! 4,500’ of elevation gain straight up Mt. Mitchell for the most spectacular views before you begin the treacherous descent back to the finish. Great swag & after party
