Summary

This (or a newer model) is imperative for anyone who trains based based on their Garmin data.  The insight you receive from this heart rate monitor is phenomenal; heart rate is far more accurate than the watch.

Garmin HRM - Run

I've loved this HRM. It is very comfortable and holds firmly too the chest.  While it is great at acquiring data from your run, it does need the contacts to be wet/damp before accurately transmitting HRM.  I've started out without prepping the contacts and it will sometimes initially read my heartrate over 250bpm.  Once you sweat, it will quickly become accurate.

The battery life is phenomenal on this model - I've made it through 800 miles before having to replace the coin battery.

I also use this with my bicycle's Garmin edge and it flawlessly transmits the heart rate information.

Experience

This is the second chest strap heart rate monitor I've owned and this is one has not let me down at all.  My previous one was a Wahoo Tickr strap.  This Garmin one is more securely attached to my body, provides running data, and is much better on energy consumption than the wahoo.
