Summary

Overall a good fitness tracker and watch. I think it still needs some time to fully compete with Garmin. The watch is lightweight and has tons of features. It is easy to navigate once you get used to it. Easily paired with your phone and the app.

Coros Pace 2 Review

The Coros Pace 2 is an overall good watch. I had to opportunity to try it out for a month and came to a few conclusions. I currently use a Garmin Forerunner 255 and my main workouts are pool swim, bike, run, brick, and strength training. I found the Coros Pace 2 to be very comfortable, sleek, and lightweight. It has a lot of activity features and can even track heart rate while swimming (something other watches lack). I found it a bit difficult to build workouts, mainly as I couldn't add notes, which are important with swim workouts in particular. I really liked using it for strength training, as I can choose the muscle group focus for the workout. I found it a tad bit frustrating during swim, bike, and run workouts. Swimming mainly because I couldn't add the equipment that I might need or notes (ex: 3 strokes between breath). During rest cycles in a pool swim workout, you have to manually start the next set, even though it counts down for you, which I wasn't a fan of. During bike and run workouts, the watch automatically locks, which leads to 2-3secs of time to pause your watch, if for example you get to stop light. I think the watch has great usability and is great for most athletes. I personally will continue to stick with Garmin for now.

Coros Pace 2 vs Garmin Forerunner 255

Side by Side

Comparing these two watches is what excited me most about getting the chance to trial a Coros Pace 2. I found the Coros Pace 2 to be more comfortable and lightweight. The band is more breathable than the Garmin Forerunner 255. The watch face is smaller on the Coros Pace 2. The Coros Pace 2 has 2 buttons, one of which is a spin and press button. The Garmin Forerunner 255 has 5 buttons. Overall, the activity options were similar, with the Coros Pace 2 having maybe a few more. The biggest thing that I wasn't a fan of with the Coros Pace 2 is the locking watch face (leading to 2-3sec of lost time unlocking it) and the inability to add notes on workouts. All of these cons are avoided with the Garmin Forerunner 255. Each person will have their own interpretation and opinion, but for me, I was a bit dissapointed with the Coros Pace 2.
