Clear Naked Whey Fruit Punch

I drink whey protein powder at least once daily. Sometimes, I tire of the traditional milky flavors (i.e. chocolate, cookies & cream, vanilla, etc.). This protein powder was an experimental purchase to see if I could once again look forward to my post-workout whey. For the most part, it worked! I've found that Clear Naked Whey mixes in a shaker bottle nicely, and tastes best when cold. I now enjoy this product at least once per week and will probably continue to purchase it. I struggle with ingesting traditional whey in the warmer months most, so the Clear Naked Whey will be a welcome addition to my peak training this coming summer.

The fruit punch flavor is enjoyable, but intense. I will probably purchase the lemonade flavor in the future and dilute it with more water than the suggested 10-16oz.

The simple, concise ingredient list drew me in. No artificial sweeteners, no soy, no sugar, and high quality whey: all great things! The only downside is the total protein content per serving--only 15g.

This product is on the pricey side. $45-$60 depending on where you buy and if there's a promo sale going on. Looking at current prices, the cost per serving is $1.50.

Overall, fun, novel product. On the pricey end of protein supps, but it will be well worth it to me in the hot summer months when I'm dreading downing my traditional, chalky whey.

Clean Ingredients

Contains only 6 ingredients and no unnecessary additives

As a nutrition coach, I look at ingredients closely. This brand intrigued me because of the short ingredient list and minimal additives. Depending on who you ask, "Natural Flavors" is an unnecessary additive, but I personally consider it harmless--especially when you consider how other protein powders sweeten and flavor their products.

Whey protein isolate is superior to concentrate in its ratio of protein to fat/carb content. Reb-M, the sweetener used in this product, is a form of stevia that has a more sugar-like taste than other steviol glycoside.

This product contains 1.85g leucine per serving, making it an acceptable product for stimulating muscle protein synthesis.

This product contains only 70 calories per serving, making it a viable choice for athletes or active individuals seeking to manipulate body composition.
