Adidas ADIZERO SL RUNNING Review

Original MSRP is $120.  Found for $24 on sale at Academy Sports.  Family found additional pairs for $40 - $50 and went present crazy, so have 4 different colorways.  I use one for casual use (black/white) as it is a bit of a throwback to the 80's for me and like the look.  I will rotate in the other colorways as I wear out each one.

Wear

Something about my mechanics is really wearing through the left foot shoe, outer rear outsole.  I am a reaper of soles, so not overly surprised, but it does seem a bit quick.  I follow Yowana on Youtube who is a shoe reviewer and tends to have a similar wear area as me, he is at 300 miles with no wear.  So......I am putting this partly on me.

Usage types

This is a great short to medium distance shoe for me.  I probably wouldn't recommend for over 8 miles unless you really like firmer midsoles.   I use a pair for casual use, so walking is a positive for me.  I don't do much gym work, but this shoe would do fine in a gym setting if you wanted a shoe for multiple purposes.

Midsole

If you don't like firmer shoes, don't get this shoe.  I tend to like firmer shoes and this is great.  The foam has nicely worn in at 198 miles to where there is some bounce back and give, but I don't sink in.  I think my mechanics lean to the harsh side, so I tend to break in firmer foams and just break soft foams.

Next version

The SL2 is now released and based on reports, they have increased stack, increased the amount of lightning pro and softened the foam.   The MSRP increased to $130, but that is still a great price.......based on shoe prices now a days.  The good news is, if you are looking for a budget shoe and like firmer shoes, you can find the SL version 1 on great deals right now.
