Summary

The NYC Runs Brooklyn Half (not to be confused with the NYRR Brooklyn Half). Is a great high energy race under the three Bridges that connect Brooklyn to Manhattan. Great crowds

NYC RUNS Brooklyn Half Marathon Review

This race may be renamed, as due to some city drama, BUT, this race is worth it.   Having Run both NYRR RBC Brooklyn Half and NYC RUNS Brooklyn Half, I'm torn on which is better, but regardless the fans won't let you down.  The vibe is amazing .  The Expo was small, but they had an expo.   I would suggest paying the extra to have your bib shipped and it did get a bit chaotic.

Comparing Apples to Apples

The Medal is awesome!
The hype is real

This race has 22K runners in it.  It is huge, but didn't feel like it was huge.  As far as crowds ringing g, it had the same feel as  the Boston Half (7K). Not too crowded.   The corrals and spacing was good.  We started where we should be seeded, and were able to run our pace, which is very hard in a big race.  All three of us were able to run our pace.

Scenery

Lots of photography on course
Iconic locations

Run through Brooklyn, under the Williamsburg, Manhattan and Brooklyn bridges. Past the Barkley center and through historic Brooklyn.
