Summary

This was my first race with NYCRUNS and from my point of view, it ran smoothly from the start of the event (waiting in line for the Governor’s Island Ferry) to the end of the event (coming back on the ferry)! It was a great atmosphere and fun event!

Pros

No cars or bicycles
Breathtaking views of NYC
Fairly flat

Cons

Lots of turns
Ferry can only fit so many people

This event was run great by NYCRUNS and its volunteers. There was good course support with guiding the runners through various twists and turns. The timing system worked well.

All in all, it was a great event on Governor’s Island. NYCRUNS ran the 5K first followed by the 10K 30 minutes after. It was break apart by pace which was great depending on how a runner felt that day. Awards will be mailed to you a few weeks after which is a downside but at least they are customized with your name if you are lucky enough to snag one!
