Summary

Race against a old steam train in this hilly half marathon along the Connecticut River. Train takes about 2:20, so it is absolutely doable! Great support. Portable toilet on the course. Water station, Gu provided. Optional punch to follow

Steam Train Half Marathon and Relay. Review

Run through the scenic downtown of Essex, and then start up the hills along the Connecticut River.   Turn around at mileage and head back before the train can return.  Great community support, followed by a Saint Patrick's Day parade if weather permits.  Local brewery hosts a brunch afterwards. Event is held yearly and you can get in for $75 if you pay early.
