The Cleveland Marathon began in 1978 in an effort to bring a positive and meaningful fitness event to the City of Cleveland. Everything was well organized and we were lucky with perfect running weather. The 7 am start is early to commute from the suburbs so we stayed the night at Drury Inn which was perfect to sleep in and walk right out the door to the race!
It was a bit cold and windy, a lot of highway running which is rough on the knees. Some sights of the lake, but not much. Awesome aid stations and support throughout the race. Start/end in downtown which is beautiful. Weather is always a surprise.
