This point to point races is one of my favorite. It is always fast and competitive for every mile.
You start off by getting on a bus to the start point, the middle of nowhere on top of a hill. The first 8 miles are mostly downhill, with a couple of climbs. Once you reach town, it's all uphill, so make sure you didn't waste all your speed going downhill. Once you reach downtown, you will start to encounter crowds of people cheering for you. Local bands and musicians play in the streets as you reach Aggieville. The toughest parts of the race are through the K-State campus as it is all uphill. The best part is the finish. You finish on the field of the Bill Snyder Family Stadium, and it is an amazing feeling going through that tunnel. Award winners are given out by he Local Legend himself, Bill Snyder. Great race for college football fans, first time half marathoner, and those looking for a PR.
